Printed Materials: Special Collections
In its special collections, the Library seeks to acquire and preserve materials such as rare and early printed books, private papers, records and documents, as well as other printed items, with an emphasis on Ismaili and Shia studies, and those that are of relevance to the Institute's research interests.The following items have recently been added to the Special Collections:
- Text of the Qur’an with a Latin translation, the Alcorani Textus Universus
- d’Herbelot’s Bibliotheque Orientale, a pioneer work of western orientalism
- Account on the Ismailis in the Memoirs of John Lord de Joinville
- Persian text and French translation of Nasir Khusraw’s Safar-nama
