Current Students

In accordance with new guidelines and in order to facilitate your return to face-to-face classes, you will no longer need to book a slot in order to access the AKC, effective immediately.

However, in order for us to remain within building capacity restrictions, you should only access the AKC when you have class or when you wish to use the library. Please arrive shortly before class is due to begin and be sure to leave the building once class has finished. This will ensure that we remain within floor and building capacity despite the numerous classes now taking place both for IIS and for those with whom we share the space.

Please keep in mind the following rules and guidelines when accessing the AKC:

  • Please check your temperature at the machine as you enter the building
  • Please wear a mask at all times when moving about the building and when in class
  • Please follow the one-way system in place
  • Please respect marked capacities in shared spaces and the lift
  • Please wash your hands regularly and make use of the hand sanitiser to be found throughout the building
  • Please test yourself for COVID-19 regularly (twice a week) either at the UoL testing centre or by using free self-test LFT kits available in pharmacies or online at
  • Students currently have use of the ground, 1st and 2nd floors only as well as the library floors. Please do not access any other floor unless specifically invited to do so by a member of staff

Aga Khaninfo-icon Library

The Aga Khan Library is currently open 10:30-17:30, Monday-Friday. You can drop by the library, browse the shelves and stay to study. To keep a safe environment, we encourage you to use the self-checkout machine for loans and returns, and if you need a consultation with any of the librarians, please book an online session through this form.

The Click and Collect service will continue as an alternative for those shielding or unsure about coming to the library.

Following AKC instructions, we will maintain all physical distancing measures, with reduced capacity by floor, and the wearing of masks still compulsory when moving around the library.
