Ludmila Zamah is an assistant professor of Islam at the University of Winnipeg. Her dissertation is entitled, “Narrative Meets Legal Exegesis: The Role of the Stories of the Prophets in Tafsir al-Qurtubi (d. 1273).” Her research interests include hermeneutics of tafsir, contacts between Abrahamic exegetical traditions, and female prophecy in Islam. She has presented papers on women's issues in theology, teaching Qur'an in the university setting, and the degree of usefulness of biblical scholarship in Qur'anic studies.
