Professor Terence Lovat

Terence Lovat is Emeritus Professor and former Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of Education at the University of Newcastle, Australia, Honorary Professor at Glasgow University and Research Fellow at Oxford University, UK. He also holds honorary appointments at Royal Roads University, Canada, and Yogyakarta University, Indonesia. His main research interests are in Values Education and Islam.

Professor Lovat was Chief Investigator of the many projects that were part of the Australian Values Education Program that was federally funded from 2003-2010. He has written much about the results which remain of great interest to educators across the world. As a result, he has been invited to speak about values education in many countries, including the US, UK, Russia, Ukraine, China, Turkey, Iran and several countries in Africa.

Professor Lovat has also researched and written extensively on various aspects of Islam, with several books published by Springer Nature and Peter Lang Publications and many refereed papers in academic journals.
