IIS Signs Memorandum of Understanding with INALCO Foundation

Dr Farhad Daftary, IIS Co-Director, gave a masterclass on Ismaili studies and signed a Memorandum of Understanding during a visit to the renowned Parisian institution in October.
INALCO (Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales), Institute for Languages and Civilisations, is a prestigious French academic institution with research centres and teaching programmes in more than 60 oriental languages.
On 10 October Dr Daftary gave a masterclass on “The Ismailis and Ismaili Studies”. The lecture was organised by the INALCO Foundation jointly with the Centre d'Etudes et de Recherche Moyen-Orient, Méditerranée (CERMOM) under the Conférences en Sciences des Religions "Viviane Comerro de Prémare".
The following day, Dr Daftary met a group of INALCO’s scholars to explore areas of possible collaboration between the institution and the IIS, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the INALCO Foundation with a view to further co-operation between the two institutions.
