The North Western Reform Synagogue, also known as Alyth, held an iftar dinner on 9 March 2025. The interfaith event sought to bring together local Muslims, Christians, and Jewish over a shared meal and conversation, especially important in these tumultuous times. The organisers brought members of diverse faith communities together to inspire hope in the local community.
As part of the event Dr Daryoush Mohammad Poor, head of the Constituency Studies Unit, presented a talk entitled ‘The Power of Hope’. In his presentation, Dr Mohammad Poor shared verses from the Qur’an(also Koran. Arabic term meaning, ‘recitation’ or ‘scripture’): Muslims believe that the Holy Qur’an contains divine revelations to the Prophet Muhammed received in Mecca and Medina over a period of… More and the words of His Late Highness Aga Khan IV to outline the role of faith in navigating a morally grey world and to inspire hope. Dr Mohammad Poor, along with the organisers of the event and other speakers, encouraged attendees to come together to pursue a common goal to build a brighter future.
