The Institute of Ismaili Studies announces the appointment of Dr Najam Abbas, Editor with the Publications Unit under the new Office of Academic and Student Affairs, to the Editorial Board of The International Journal of Policy Studies (IJPS). Published by Inspiring Time Leaders (Pvt.) Ltd. in partnership with the Society for Social Sciences and Research Association (SSSARA) in Karachi, Pakistan, IJPS is an international, open-access, peer-reviewed journal that promotes research and dialogue in social sciences and policy studies. The journal offers a space for academics and practitioners to examine interdisciplinary perspectives on governance, public policy, and societal change.

The Editor-in-Chief, Dr Omme Asma, noted Dr Abbas’s experience as a scholar and editor. Dr Abbas primarily works with the Encyclopaedia Islamica, an IIS publication produced with Brill, Leiden. He also serves on the Editorial and Advisory Boards of journals including the Pakistan Journal of International Affairs (Federal Urdu University, Karachi). A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK), he conducts reviews for Historicus Journal (Pakistan Historical Society) and the Journal of Media and Communication (ILMA University, Karachi). Dr Abbas has also served as an external examiner for doctoral dissertations at the Open University Islamabad, the University of Karachi, and Islamia College University Peshawar.

Dr Abbas has conducted workshops on “Research Trends, Templates, and Tools” for social science faculty at universities in Pakistan, including Minhaj University Lahore, Bahria University Karachi, and Riphah University Islamabad.

Dr Abbas’ role on the IJPS Editorial Board expands the Institute’s network of international academic partnerships and its contribution to global scholarly discussion. In this role, Dr Abbas will support the journal’s peer-review process and strategic direction, reinforcing its position as a forum for policy research and academic exchange.
