Biography

Jahanzeb Hussain is Executive Assistant to Professor Zayn Kassam, Director of The Institute of Ismaili Studies (IIS). He provides administrative and operational support to the Director, coordinating complex schedules, supporting governance and committee processes, and contributing to the effective delivery of institutional priorities across the Institute.

Before joining IIS, Jahanzeb worked in operations, finance, and project management. This professional experience informs his analytical and organised approach to administration, combining operational coordination with a strong focus on process improvement and attention to detail.

Jahanzeb first became involved with IIS through voluntary work translating oral history interviews from Khowar into English. This experience introduced him to The Institute’s work in preserving community histories and cultural heritage.

Originally from Chitral, Pakistan, and now based in London, he brings a multilingual and cross-cultural perspective to his work. Alongside his professional responsibilities, he maintains a strong interest in geopolitics, identity, and the relationship between political institutions and lived experience.
