Biography

Muzaffar Zoirshoevich Zoolshoev is a Research Assistant in the Central Asian Studies Unit (CASU) within the Department of Academic Research (DAR) at The Institute of Ismaili Studies (IIS), London. His research focuses on the history and culture of the peoples of Central Asia.

Mr Zoolshoev graduated from the History and Philology Department (now the History and Law Department) at Khorog State University, Tajikistan, where he received a BA in History and Sociology in 1999. He later pursued Islamic Studies in the Graduate Programme in Islamic Studies and Humanities (GPISH) at The Institute, from 2001 to 2003.

From 2003 to 2004, Mr Zoolshoev studied at the Department of Politics and International Studies (PAIS) at the University of Warwick, where he obtained an MA in International Relations.

Mr Zoolshoev began his career at IIS in 2005 as an Administrative Research Assistant in the Central Asian Studies Unit within the Department of Academic Research. Since 2008, he has served as a Research Assistant in the same unit.
