Research focus

Mr Zoolshoev’s research focuses on the history of peoples and cultures of Central Asia, with particular attention to patterns of religious and intercultural exchange across the region. He examines how communities have interacted, adapted, and transformed over time within broader political, social, and environmental contexts. His recent work centres on the history of migration from the Pamir region into neighbouring areas of Central Asia, exploring the causes, routes, and consequences of these movements. Through the analysis of historical texts, archival sources, and interdisciplinary materials, he investigates how migration has shaped cultural landscapes, social and religious structures, and regional connections.
