The Institute of Ismaili Studies (IIS) offers various scholarship and fellowship programmes to suitable candidates with a focus on Islamic Studies or other areas of interest to the IIS. We encourage scholars seeking to develop their research in these fields to find out more about our various fellowships. If you are a graduate student looking to start doctoral studies in any of the IIS’s areas of interest, there are a number of scholarships available to support you through your programme.
The fellowship is awarded once every five years to an internationally renowned scholar working in the field of Classical Arabic Literature
The Annemarie Schimmel Fellowship is awarded every three years to a scholar working in the fields of interest of the late Professor Schimmel
The IIS awards these scholarships each year to suitable candidates who are interested in pursuing research at PhD level on a topic related to any of the Institute’s core research areas.
This is awarded once every four years for a four-year period to a graduate student pursuing research in the field of Islamic Studies.
