Dr Daryoush Mohammad Poor has been appointed to the advisory board of the Encyclopædia Iranica, an international, collaborative research project focusing on the history of Iran and its diaspora. Dr Mohammad Poor joins 65 scholars from universities, museums, and educational institutions around the world in this ongoing endeavour. Dr Mohammad Poor’s work will focus on the intersection of Ismaili studies with the Encyclopædia’s core research areas.
Encyclopædia Iranica stands as a testament to the intellectual legacy of the late Professor Ehsan Yarshater, one of the most distinguished scholars of Iranian studies in the modern era. Over the past four decades, this monumental endeavour has united the finest minds in the field, shaping a scholarly tradition of unparalleled depth and rigour. With the appointment of Professor Touraj Daryaee of the Dr Samuel M. Jordan Center for Persian Studies at the University of California, Irvine, as the new editor, a new chapter unfolds in the illustrious history of this remarkable institution.
It is both an honour and a privilege to accept Professor Daryaee’s invitation to serve on the advisory board of Encyclopædia Iranica, contributing my expertise in Ismaili studies and medieval history to this esteemed scholarly project.” – Dr Daryoush Mohammad Poor on his appointment.
