Fatima is responsible for donor stewardship and strengthening relationships with IIS’s global community of supporters. She leads the development of thoughtful, timely, and strategic engagement with donors and leadership of the Ismaili Community, including tailored communications, curated events, and impact reporting. Her work focuses on connecting donors more deeply with the Institute’s academic mission by sharing insights from its research, publications, and programmes to demonstrate the value and relevance of their support.

Fatima recently completed her PhD at SOAS University of London, where she examined the paradoxes of institutional legal pluralism and religious diversity in Lebanon, contributing new insights into the intersections of law, religion, and society. She has been a Teaching Fellow at SOAS for the past three years, teaching the module Legal Systems of Asia and Africa. She is also the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Legal Transformation in Muslim Societies. Prior to joining IIS, Fatima led communications and stakeholder engagement for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Aga Khan University.
